Windnotes is a purpose-driven community-based organization focused on helping students explore their own musical talent. We believe that anyone can and should engage in art. With intention, Windnotes doubles as a music education leader and a vehicle to help build community. We are committed to our students, educators, and partners.
Timeline:
- 2015 Spring – Windnotes became a registered and insured business with the DC Government
- 2015 Winter – Windnotes formed it’s premier live performing kid jam band – consisting of children ages 7 to 11
- 2016 Summer – Windnotes kid band called “Hot 7 Band” had its first public performance as a festival act in the Health Services for Children Healthcare System’sJune Fair
- 2017 Spring – Windnotes is providing music education and enrichment throughout District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) to youth and adult students
- 2018 Spring – Windnotes hosted it’s inaugural community music showcase at the legendary Alice’s Jazz and Cultural Society
- 2019 Winter- Windnotes became a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME)
